Yard Work? If I do say so myself!

What in the world you may ask...

Well the past few weeks I have been surprising myself and my husband
quite often. Almost every day to be exact! :)

I have been in the weirdest moods lately.
No it is not PMS.
Ok maybe a little!
But get ready for it because you are not going to believe it...

I have started YARD WORK.

Yeah I couldn't believe it myself. I have loved being outside!

I couldn't hardly believe the little bit of motivation that I received about a month ago.
Neither could Tyson! :)

Growing up I absolutely HATED yard work. It was the worst
thing possible my parents could ask me to do.

The only time you would ever catch me in the yard was when they wanted the lawn mowed.

These are my sisters words
"The only reason why you mowed the lawn was to get a tan. You would put your skanky little tank tops on and your little shorts and put your legs up!"

Ok so there is some truth to that. I'm not proud of the little tank tops and short shorts.

But I can say I ALWAYS had a killer tan in high school! ;)

(DEFINITELY NOT THE POINT!)

Anyways the whole point of this is to remember that I have loved doing yard work.
I don't know if it is because it is my own, or I have hated being stuck inside all day!

Either way...I have made huge progress in loving yard work!

In our yard we didn't get much fall work done...So that made EXTRA work for us to do this summer.

It has been a lot of work. My dad scored us a lawn mower from my grandma Stewart.

The only set back is that it is a push mower. Blehhhh....
But I have been so excited to use it.

To get around the trees and under the trees (remind you things I despised living at home.)

We have a riding lawn mower that is super old but it gets the job done.

We had to put some new tires on it this summer, and needless to say...I think it's had better years.

I have pushed mowed the lawn the last 2 times and I haven't hated it yet.
Cross your fingers! I feel like it has given me a nice leg workout...Or I like to look at it that way!

We are in the process of planting grass across from our driveway and I tell you what....
Being married to a farmer is AWESOME!

They have big equipment to make planting grass 10X easier!
At least the smoothing out part!

We are in the process of planting a garden as well. I have no clue how to take care of a garden, but I'm pretty observant and after the many years of WATCHING my dad and mom weed the garden and plant it, I'm pretty sure I can do it! :)

Well I just thought that this post would be a good one to look back on and remind myself that yard work can be fun!

Keep your fingers crossed and keep us in your prayers that we will survive this summer of
crazy mad yard work! And that our garden will not die!

Happy Blogging!
 :)
