I am thankful for......

So this last week was Thanksgiving Break. This week seriously didn't come as fast as I wanted it to and definitely didn't go as slow as I wanted it to either. Doesn't it just stink when that happens? Crazy life. But it has been a break that has been needed for a really long time! So for not having snow, it sure was a blizzard almost ALL week. It was crazy. I can't believe how much snow we got in a weeks time. We have never gotten this much, well maybe I just wasn't born when it happened! But it has been such an awesome week, spending time with my family, my future in laws, and of course my future husband! :) I had a real big eye opener this week. Our family decided that we would go find a angel tree that the Salvation Army was doing for the needy kids in our area. It was so sad. I couldn't just pick one kid. If I could have gone shopping for all of them I would have. The little boy that I chose needed a hair cut, and boots, and he wanted "How to Train Your Dragon". Absolutely broke my heart. Then the little girl needed dress shoes, and then wanted glow in the dark stars. None of these kids wanted anything huge, the stars that we got the little girl were $3. Its amazing to me how much we don't realize what we have, and there are people out there that have literally nothing, and simply want glow in the dark stars. I found myself saying things like "holy cow $15 for a pair of boots" when any day I would spend $90 on shoes for myself. It makes me so grateful for what I have, but also feel bad for what I have. I feel so spoiled rotten. I am so grateful for the opportunity for my family to go shopping for those little kids. I'm so grateful for my family and for how much they teach me every single day. I'm grateful for all the little and big things in my life. I'm so grateful for a mom and dad that put others before themselves and are willing to do anything for anybody. They are simply the best parents anybody could ask for. I'm grateful for my brothers and sister and their spouses, and grateful for my fiance. They teach me so much and are such huge examples to me! So I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving, and I challenge you to take a little time to think of others, possibly go shopping for a needy family or child that you know of. It will truly bless your life!

Happy blogging! :)
