So I feel like I have completely fallen off the face of this earth.
Oh wait I have! I live in Vernal! :)
So this blog post will be a long one just to warn all of you now! As you can see I'm terrible at updating everyone! :)
So Tys and I have been down here in Vernal for a little over a month now!
And I don't love it, but I don't hate it either! Is that possible?
It has been a great experience so far and things are just getting better.
SOO ask me in a few weeks how I like it and I might have a different answer! :)
But we are doing so great down here. Vernal has reminded me a lot of home. Well at least Rexburg. It isn't very hard to find our way around here. It has a main street that has pretty much your essentials on it and that's all ya need! It has a Walmart (which is very under-stocked), a Cafe Rio (heaven!), a Maurices (weakness!). So what more could I possibly need!
Oh don't forget I have this sweet man to live with! :)
This post is hard to do an update on because really there isn't anything new going on with us (kind of). I started another semester at BYU-I and I'm just taking 1 online class. I'm sure your saying "that's it?" Well yes my cute friends it is! I started out with 2 but decided while we are away and since we are so dang busy running a store all by ourselves one online class was enough to keep me occupied every night!
I dread starting classes every semester. I have no idea why! But I have noticed that I have not freaked out quite as bad as I usually do when a new semester begins. I had a little meltdown one night, but was immediately calmed by a priesthood blessing. Oh what a wonderful blessing it is to have a husband that puts up with my emotionalness! ;)
So, Tyson and I have been working our buns off since we've been down here. Especially Tys. Starting up this store has been a bigger project I think than we expected. There are so many ins and outs that we are both learning together. We have both had to learn to become EXTREMELY organized. There have been times when we have just wanted to give up and come home, and there have been times where we have been so excited for the store to be successful. It has definitely been a learning process for us both. Not only to learn the ins and outs of the store, but it has been a huge change to work together as well! Tyson's dad asked us what we did if we needed space because we worked together and live in a apartment together and I told him that we just went into separate rooms and watched our own t.v. shows! ;)
We had our grand opening of Black Ink Truck Parts yesterday and we all lost a little sleep over it! Party planning is so difficult. You never know how many to plan for! And that my friends is what we lost sleep over. We didn't know if we would have 20 people or 400! You never know what kind of people will show up for these kinds of things either. I mean come on people I would show up for FREE FOOD even if it was a Truck Parts store! But it turned out to be great. We ended up with a lot of left over food. But having a lot is better than not having enough! :)
Well I have been pretty darn homesick, but working and being in school has helped calm that down a little! Lets face it I am a Idaho girl at heart and I miss my families like crazy! Tyson's parents came down and visited and it was a piece of heaven! It was home! :) Tyson and I always think we should head home (just about every weekend!).
I got to skype with this sweet thing for her birthday the other night.
And lets just say I was tearin up a little when I had to tell the family goodbye over skype! Ridiculous I know! Tyson has made our little adventure a lot easier. We have grown a lot closer since we have moved and have learned more and more about each other. I love that boy more than he will ever know. And this is just a sweet adventure in life that we get to experience together! I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father that knows EXACTLY what we need WHEN we need it! I am so grateful that He knows us each individually and for the LOVE that He shows me on a daily basis.
I am so grateful for the gospel in our lives and for our families. They are such a blessing.
Speaking of family we were able to go home the first of the month to see this sweet thing...
get baptized.
I cannot believe she is 8! Someone needs to stop these kids from growing up! It was such a good experience. I was thinking about when I got baptized and Tyson (my brother) baptized me! It was fun to reflect back on those memories! And I am so proud of Halli for the example she is to everyone around her!
Then...Last weekend we were able to experience the marriage of these two.
The ceremony was awesome! And to top it off aren't they adorable!? :) It was so fun to experience their special day with them. And memories came flooding back of when Tys and I got married. :) These two are perfect for each other and I am so glad we are able to call them friends. I think we will be lifelong friends :) Congrats Devyn and Jamon! :)
So here is to still living in Vernal! We are happier than ever, and stressed more than ever, but LIFE IS GOOD!
And as my sweet Grandpa would say... happy trails!
Until next time...
Happy Blogging! :)
Love,
Kate and Tyson
